The Coweta County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.17 percent in unincorporated Coweta County. The proposed millage rate in incorporated Coweta County will not require an increase in property taxes.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Commission Chambers in the County Administration building, 37 Perry Street, Newnan, Georgia on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 6pm.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.28 mills in unincorporated Coweta County, an increase of 0.162 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate would be no more than 5.118 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $17.82 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $19.44.
