Amy Godfrey, Solicitor-General
The Mission of the Coweta County Solicitor-General's Office is to investigate, charge and prosecute misdemeanor violations of Georgia law that occur in Coweta County. The Solicitor-General is charged with ensuring that all misdemeanor cases occurring in Coweta County are handled in a just and efficient manner; and to protect the interest of victims of crime and the citizens of Coweta County.
Amy Godfrey was appointed Solicitor-General of Coweta County by Governor Brian Kemp in March 2024. She began working at the Coweta County Solicitor’s Office in 2006 and became Chief Assistant Solicitor in 2013. She was previously employed in the private practice of law before working at the Solicitor’s Office.
Amy is a graduate of Charleston Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Science in 1998. She went on the earn her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2004.
Amy resides in Newnan with her husband and three children.
