If asked, most people will claim ignorance when it comes to what poetry does and means.  Why, though, don't we ask the more important questions of how it means, where it derives its power?  what, in other words, makes a poem tick (like a heart or a bomb)?

For this fascinating talk, come to the Carnegie Library and listen to University of West Georgia School of the Arts Director and Professor of English, Dr. Chad Davidson.  A reception, with light refreshments, will begin at 6:00 p.m.; the talk will start at 6:30 p.m.
