Pickin’ on the Square is hosted on the first Saturday of the month around the Historic Courthouse Square in downtown Newnan. Due to location, it also occurs simultaneously with Market Day (which extends through the first Saturday beginning in April and ending in December). Here, you can expect to enjoy the vernacular sounds of local musicians playing acoustic music around the courthouse lawn. Any musician with an acoustic instrument is invited to join and play at their own accord. All music genres and skill levels are welcome. In the past, Blue Grass musicians have found opportunity to be especially appealing! Pickin’ on the Square is also a networking opportunity for local musicians who may be looking to find new partners to play with. Musicians typically arrive after 10 am and stay until around 2 pm. However, there is not a dedicated time frame for this event. Free public parking is available along downtown streets and in the City of Newnan’s public parking lots located at: 13 LaGrange Street; 25 Lagrange Street; 22 Spring Street; 6 First Avenue; 50 East Broad Street; 65 East Broad Street; 41 East Washington Street; and 22 East Broad Street. Acoustic only.
