 *CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO CONSTRUCTION*

The Citizens' Sheriff's Academy is a seven-part community program designed to provide an orientation to the organization and function of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.  The program consists of seven Thursday evening sessions, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. 

  1. Introduction (mission, history, organization, tour)
  2. Jail (booking, inmates, files) & Administration (records, fleet, infirmary, accreditation)
  3. Patrol (duties, ethics, dispatch, traffic, accidents, DUI enforcement, domestic violence)
  4. Investigations (crime scenes, fingerprints, death investigations, property crimes), Narcotics Investigations (drug enforcement, meth labs, canine demonstration), and SWAT
  5. School Services (duties, programs, go-carts, Neighborhood Watch, Project Life Saver)
  6. Training (firearms training & simulator, TASER demonstration, self-defense, use of force)
  7. Court Services (courts & their organization, warrants, civil papers, transport) & Graduation
