Chief Deputy Milton Beck

After graduating from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Science degree,  Chief Beck began his employment in 1989 with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and brings more than 30 years of law enforcement experience to our agency. Chief Beck’s previous assignments included Detention, Court Security, Undercover Narcotics, Uniform Field Services, Domestic Violence Unit, Public and Media Relations as well as Internal Affairs and retired as Cobb County’s Chief Deputy.  After a few years as a Security Consultant, Sheriff Wood hired Milton as a Captain assigned to Internal Affairs.  Once long-standing lawman Jimmy Yarbrough retired, Milton was sworn in as Sheriff Wood’s new Chief Deputy.  Chief Beck resides in Coweta County and attends Unity Baptist Church in Newnan.
