 Civil Unit

The Sheriff's Office Civil Unit provides legal service of court papers in civil court actions. In agreement with the Georgia Sheriff's Association and in accordance with Georgia law, the Coweta County Sheriff's Office exercises its authority under OCGA 9-11-4 and 9-11-4.1 in PROHIBITING certified process servers from serving process in Coweta County.  Civil process will be handled by trained personnel of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office Civil Unit.  This information is provided as a courtesy for potential applicants to make a more informed financial decision regarding the certification process.

Warrant Unit

Criminal warrants are issued by Coweta County Courts and forwarded to the Sheriff's Office for service.

Staff
The Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit apprehends offenders and fugitives on warrants issued by the courts,  including warrants issued in other jurisdictions.  Warrants are issued by the courts, not by the Sheriff's Office.

Transport Unit Staff
The Sheriff's Office Transport Unit transports prisoners to and from court.  This unit also picks up prisoners arrested on Coweta County warrants in other jurisdictions.
